How to Choose Your Business Card

No matter what type of business you may happen to be in, making a good first impression is of the utmost importance. The worst mistake you can make is to do something when first meeting with a business contact that makes you look unprofessional or unprepared. When someone suddenly asks for your business card, it is unforgivable not to be able to quickly hand them a professional looking representation of your business.

Choosing a good business card design is not something that should be done without much thought. You should take seriously choosing business card paper, for example, because cheap paper is immediately evident as soon as a business prospect holds your card for the first time. Although you might have a great looking card with all of the necessary information on it, that will be completely forgotten as the person rubs the card between their fingers and thinks, ‘what a thin card’.

For the design of the card, it would seem to be obvious what basic contact information should be on a business card, and yet, too many business owners get it wrong. Sometimes, the information is printed in a font that is not easy to read; other times, a giant logo obscures the information.

Take time to carefully choose a business card design that represents you and your business well.
